Biography

Scott has been practicing law in Hawaii since 1992 and has been a member of the firm since 1994. Scott has represented a wide-range of clients in civil litigation over the years and his practice has focused principally on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, consumer class actions, and First Amendment and defamation matters.

In addition to his law practice, Scott has been a Representative to the Hawaii State House of Representatives since 1994 (22nd District - McCully/Moiliili), is a former House Majority Leader, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Moiliili Community Center, and is a past-president of the Young Lawyers Division of the Hawaii State Bar Association. Scott has been recognized as one of "Ten Who Made a Difference" by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and has been recognized for his political and community contributions by Hawaii Business Magazine in its 2003 "Power Issues" feature.

Scott was born and raised in Honolulu. He is a graduate of Hawaii Baptist Academy and University of Hawaii, where he received his B.A. in political science in 1988. Scott received his law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law of the University of Hawaii in 1991.

When he is not working or representing his constituents, Scott can be found doing his daily swim at the Nuuanu YMCA, spending time with his family, or sharing his oenophile knowledge with friends.
