About Us

Founded in 1989, Bickerton Law Group is a Honolulu-based law firm practicing in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. Our attorneys come from a variety of backgrounds and take pride in using their decades of combined professional experience to creatively and efficiently resolve cases arising throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Our specific practice areas include personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, consumer class actions, wildfire litigation, commercial and business litigation, will and trust disputes, professional liability, and First Amendment and defamation matters. If you need a lawyer who will fight for you throughout the Hawaiian Islands, we welcome your call.

Attorneys From Diverse Backgrounds Focused on Excellence

For nearly four decades, our Founding Partner, Attorney James J. Bickerton, Esq. has advocated for and represented individuals in personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice matters, consumer class actions, real estate and commercial litigation, products liability, professional responsibility matters, First Amendment and defamation cases, and in high profile litigation involving employment and government issues. Attorney Jim Bickerton was born abroad and lived in several different countries before arriving in Hawaii as a teen and attending Roosevelt High School. Because of these experiences, Jim has a unique understanding and appreciation of the American legal system. Recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and one of “Hawaii’s A+ Attorneys,” Attorney Jim Bickerton’s list of former clients includes a mayor, a governor, a university basketball coach, a princess, and many nationally recognized business entities.

Managing Partner, attorney Bridget G. Morgan-Bickerton, Esq., focuses her practice in the areas of consumer class actions, unfair competition, and commercial and bankruptcy litigation. Born and raised in Seattle, Bridget pursued her legal education at Berkeley Law before moving to the islands to serve a two-year AmeriCorps term with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. Named as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers earlier in her career, Attorney Morgan-Bickerton pursues justice for consumers, workers, and other ordinary people in cases against hotels, restaurants, and other businesses. She is equally experienced with and comfortable representing public figures who find themselves caught up in high-profile litigation.

Partner Stephen M. Tannenbaum, Esq., grew up on the East Coast and was educated at the Wharton School of Business and New York University School of Law. After practicing law in New York for 10 years, Stephen moved to Hawaii, where he has focused his practice in the areas of commercial, real estate, and business litigation and contested wills and trust disputes. Attorney Tannenbaum has represented clients ranging from small “mom-and-pop” shops to global financial institutions.

Contact Bickerton Law Group for a Consultation

Our attorneys urge you to contact us as soon as you realize that you may be facing a legal issue, rather than attempting to solve matters on your own. A delay in hiring an experienced attorney to represent you can undermine the strength of your claim and prevent an efficient resolution. To get started on your case, call us now at 808-599-3811 or contact us online. Our offices are located in the Topa Financial Center on Fort Street in downtown Honolulu, but we represent clients throughout Hawaii. Many cases are accepted on a contingency fee basis, which means that we get paid only when your case settles or results in a favorable judgment.
